this book is about Edith and her mother a wealthy widow who are give essentials to the poor at the workhouse.Edith then meets Rosie Chubb and learns about the cruelty indside these 'prisons'During the story the workhouse general is arrested and Edith`s family is ambushed by the generals son and her mom is injured badly.Not one of the best books of my story but ok.I must say the pictures at the end are horrifying.
